How to Reset the Hikvision DVR Password

Today we will let you know how to reset the password of Hikvision DVR.

First of all you have to download the SADP Tool from Hikvision official website. The link of downloading the SADP tool is given for your ready reference https://www.hikvision.com/en/Support/Downloads/Tools or you can visit the official website of Hikvision then go to Support Tab and then go to Downloads and click on the SADP tool. Now to reset the password of DVR power on the DVR first and then plugin the LAN Cable into DVR to the Laptop/ Desktop in which you had installed the SADP Tool. Now open the SADP Tool if it will ask for the User Name and Password if you are a new user click on the new user or else login with your current Gmail ID. The Tool now provides you the Device ID, Device Type, Status, IP, DVR Serial Number and other information of that particular DVR. Now click on the check box of that DVR and when the details of the DVR are highlighted click on the Forget Password Tab which is shown in the lower right side of the SADP tool. It will now open a new window of Reset password. Click on the Export Button shown in the Tab Step1 of the window. It will ask for the folder where you want to save the exported file. Prefer Desktop location for the same.  Once the file is saved on desktop you have to send this file to the Hikvision support center by your mail id. The mail ID of the Hikvision support center is support.pramahikvision.com along with the other details like your details with the month and year of the DVR purchase. In revert of this mail the support center will provide you an encrypted key which works as the password reset link.  You have to download that key on your system and then import the same using the reset password window in Step2 Tab. Click on OK and it will ask for the new password. Enter the new password of your choice re-enter the same password and save it. Your password is reset now and is usable now.

There are some important tips that have to be keep in mind while reset the password of the Hikvision DVR.

• 1.       Don’t unplug the LAN cable until the process is completed means from export the key till the reset of the password.
• 2.       If there is any firewall running in the system kindly turn off the window firewall until the complete process took place.
